YOU deserve time for YOU!
The sound clip is from YouTube, it is not me who is playing, but it gives you an idea of what to expect.
Soundbaths provide a lightning quick way to drop into a restorative meditative state
You should sleep better than usual following a soundbath. The cleansing effects continue after the session has closed
You will feel refreshed and ready to take on the world (if taking on the world is what you would like to do!)
A soundbath is an opportunity to clear your mind and re-set. You cannot pour from an empty cup...
The evidence is growing...
My introduction to soundbathing was through lived experience rather than research! But as an academic, I have obviously done my homework to try to understand more about how it works. There is limited research, but what is there looks promising. For example Goldsby et al. (2017) conducted an observational study of 62 people and concluded that singing bowl meditations reduce feelings of anxiety, tension and depression. In a helpful 'overview' paper Heather (2007) cites a number of therapist case studies reporting positive effects. Clearly there is more, this is just a snippet of what is happening.

Who should not have a soundbath?
Current recommendations are that if you have epilepsy or a neurological condition, you should NOT have a soundbath as the vibration can trigger a seizure. People with pacemakers similarly should not participate and finally if you are pregnant, soundbaths are contraindicated (there are mixed views about this, but my insurance does not provide cover in these situations).
From a work perspective, I started life as a nurse (I am still registered with the NMC). In 2005, I moved into teaching (at The University of Liverpool) and through my career at Liverpool, I have significant experience in leadership and research (in addition to teaching).
I am also a bereaved mum. My daughter Mary-Lou died in January 2020 aged 22 years old. I have used MANY healing modalities to support my grief experience, including sound healing. I found sound healing deeply restorative and I am delighted to have become a bit of a gong and crystal singing bowl addict (there are worse things I could be addicted to!).
Mary-Lou's death led me to coaching - initially via The Tarot (its a long story - I will share it one day) then Mindfulness and Resilience Coaching and now I am part way through a Level 7 ILM Executive Leadership Coaching Course...
I continue to develop and evolve and I love to support my clients to do the same.
